Better late than never ! Although HiPEAC summer school took place in July-August 2020 2020 but no harm in writing about it spring.

What’s HiPEAC ?

HiPEAC stands for High Performance and Embedded Architecture and Compilation. It is a European network of almost 2,000 world-class computing systems researchers, industry representatives and students. It provides a platform for cross-disciplinary research collaboration, promotes the transformation of research results into products and services, and is an incubator for the next generation of world-class computer scientists.

What’s ACACES?

ACACES stands for Advance Computer Architecture and Compilation for High Performance and Embedded Systems. It is basically a summer school for computer architects and tool builders working in the field of high-performance computer architecture and compilation for computing systems. The school aims at the dissemination of advanced scientific knowledge and the promotion of international contacts among scientists from academia and industry.

List of courses in ACACES 2020:

This year there were 11 courses. And these were really comprehensive courses. Apparently it was not possible to attend all of these courses. Thanks to the technology there courses are still available on-demand. Considering my research interests I had attended the following courses:

  • A glimpse of Real-Time Systems theory and practice
  • Challenges and opportunities in an era of smart CPS reflections on a socio-technical shift
  • GPU Research Directions: Simulation, Reliability, Security and Future Directions
  • Machine Learning Accelerators
  • Software-level Attacks on Architectural and Microarchitectural State
  • The Latest News on NoC
  • Whole Systems Energy Transparency More power to software developers!
  • Working with RISC-V from open ISA to open Architecture to open Hardware
